The Entropy of 2020
A cage I didn’t know I was in
Had opened.
But I didn’t see the latch release in time
to avoid getting shocked
When I finally left
The jolt created a void
And one of those pale scars that look
Like it happened years ago
But sometimes it still
Aches
The four horseman
Joined forces with perceived power
But even they
In their infinite entropy
Could not defeat
Spirit
Something scratched at my
Brain
An foggy intrusion
Perceived as a nonchalant gesture
Whose consequences are yet
undetermined
Land fell away
Rushing past me and stealing my breath
Muddy waters to remind me
That I’m not important
But I can survive
The absolute
Never was
But I’m breathing easy
Compared to some
