Facing the mirror: keeping it real

As complex as humans may seem, they are fundamentally no different from animals. Like animals, humans have an innate need to chase, protect themselves, and survive. We build barriers to shield ourselves, adopting a tough exterior to avoid appearing weak. But in reality, you can't be strong without being weak, as weakness and strength complete each other. We often prefer to show the "I don't give a fuck " facade over the "I do give a fuck" one. We deceive ourselves into believing we are strong, all while feeling a lingering sadness deep within, trying to escape our own minds as if our thoughts were disconnected from our bodies. What if we sat with our demons, learned their names, and understood their presence instead of running away from them? What if we accepted the fact that we are not as independent, tough, and fearless as we appear to be? What if we embraced the sadness, the fear, and the pain, and still moved forward? We should stop searching for the next distraction and instead accept the state of our minds in the moment. We need to manage our anger, anxiety, insecurities, and struggles by looking in the mirror and acknowledging the damage rather than ignoring it. Life is too short to overlook the unhealthy patterns that shape our existence. So, let’s let people around us feel the complexity of our beings too. Let them hear and feel the anger and sadness that their actions have caused. Let's stop playing soft and start being real—real to who we truly are.
