The crystalline ground beneath their feet sparkled faintly, casting soft rainbows against the swirling purple and gold sky. The contestants stood in uneasy silence, still disoriented from their sudden arrival in the Lost Realm. No one dared to speak at first, the strangeness of this new world pressing down on them like an invisible weight.

“What is this place?” Leafy finally whispered, breaking the silence. She clutched her notebook tightly, her eyes darting from one strange landmark to the next.

“Wherever it is, I don’t like it,” Woody muttered, trembling behind Blocky.

The group had landed in a shimmering clearing surrounded by what seemed to be enormous crystal spires. The spires reflected distorted versions of the contestants, their faces stretching and shifting like ripples on water. In the distance, faint sounds echoed—low rumbles, melodic hums, and occasional whispers, though none of them could tell where the noises were coming from.

“We have to move,” said Golf Ball, snapping everyone out of their daze. “Standing around here isn’t going to solve anything. Nexus said there are trials, right? We should get going before things get worse.”

“Worse than this?” Bubble asked, bouncing nervously in place.

“It’s a competition, Bubble,” said Blocky. “We’ve faced dangerous challenges before. We just need to stick together and—”

“Who says we’re sticking together?” Firey interrupted. “This is obviously going to be survival of the fittest. The weak are going to slow us down!”

“Excuse me?” Leafy shot back, narrowing her eyes. “We’ve always worked as a team. That’s how we’ve made it through every season. We’re not splitting up now!”

Before the argument could escalate further, the air around them shimmered. Nexus reappeared, its shadowy form hovering above the ground, its glowing eyes fixed on the group.

“Your bickering is pointless,” Nexus said coldly. “You will not succeed in this realm without unity. However, your first decision will test your ability to agree—or to divide.”

With a wave of Nexus’s hand, the ground ahead of the group shifted. Three glowing trails appeared, each stretching toward a different horizon. One trail glowed blue and disappeared into a dense, foggy forest where the trees loomed tall and foreboding. The second trail, glowing red, led into a rocky canyon with jagged cliffs and faint echoes of distant roars. The third, glowing green, wound through a glittering meadow filled with flowers that seemed to pulse with an unnatural energy.

“These are your choices,” Nexus continued. “Each path leads to a trial. Each trial will test a different aspect of your character: courage, intelligence, or trust. Choose wisely.”

“Which path leads to safety?” Tennis Ball asked, his voice trembling slightly.

“Safety?” Nexus repeated, a mocking edge to its tone. “There is no safety here. Choose, or the realm will choose for you.”

The contestants exchanged nervous glances, the tension palpable.

“I vote for the green path,” Leafy said. “It looks peaceful, and we could use a break after… whatever this is.”

“Peaceful doesn’t mean safe,” Firey countered. “The red path might be dangerous, but it could lead to something valuable. You don’t get anywhere by avoiding risks.”

“Maybe we should try the blue path,” suggested Bubble. “The foggy forest looks cool! And mysterious!”

“Mysterious means traps!” Pin argued. “Are you trying to get us eliminated?”

As the debate grew louder, Nexus raised a hand, silencing them with a wave of energy. “You must choose unanimously. The path you take will shape your journey. Time is running out.”

The group fell into heated discussions, with each contestant passionately defending their choice. Leafy, as always, advocated for caution. Firey pushed for the challenge of the red path, while Bubble and Gelatin seemed drawn to the allure of the unknown in the foggy forest.

“What if we split up?” Blocky suggested. “Half of us take one path, the other half takes another. We can meet up later!”

“Absolutely not!” Golf Ball snapped. “Splitting up is a recipe for disaster. Haven’t you learned anything from past competitions?”

Spongy, who had been quiet up until now, shuffled nervously. “Uh… I’ll go wherever everyone else goes…”

“I think the blue path sounds fun!” said Lollipop, joining Bubble and Gelatin in their enthusiasm.

“Fun?!” Tennis Ball exclaimed. “We’re in a life-or-death realm, and you’re thinking about fun?”

The debate continued for what felt like hours, though it was impossible to tell time in the Lost Realm. Nexus, growing impatient, let out a low, rumbling sigh that reverberated through the air.

“If you cannot decide,” it said, its voice sharper now, “then the realm will decide for you.”

As soon as the words left Nexus’s mouth, the ground beneath the contestants began to shake violently. Cracks formed in the crystalline surface, glowing with an intense light. The three trails began to pulse, their colors flickering wildly.

“We have to choose now!” Leafy shouted over the noise.

“Fine, fine! Let’s take the green path!” Blocky yelled.

“No! The red path!” Firey countered.

“Blue! Blue!” Bubble cried.

The ground cracked open further, sending small shards of crystal flying into the air. A low growl emanated from somewhere deep below, as if the realm itself was growing angry at their indecision.

“Everyone just pick one already!” Golf Ball yelled.
