I just want to start off by saying I didn't use TikTok or even have the app before I started this job. I downloaded it as a requirement of taking this job to familiarize myself with the platform before I started. I immediately remember finding what I liked on the platform. Jason Banks. Still probably the only good to ever come from this job. We were told that we would see the worst of the video content in training. The rest they said would be child's play in comparison. I guess maybe I missed the meaning because I didn't realize they meant child's play like the movie where you're surrounded by violent brats with knives hell bent on your demise. Another ominous note, TikTok...yeah because they're just counting down the days til they finally chew you up, spit you out, and leave you to the wolves.

This company prides itself on it's wellness benefits and actually since being sued a few times by previous moderators they've actually beefed up that package. Coincidence? I think not. Any company with onsite mental health and crises counselors should really tell you something. I, however, was a part of the group of moderators training the a.i. that filters content before it reaches us moderators. My wellness benefits were perhaps in the earlier stages offered by my "respective" employer, and all the 30 minute sorry ass excuses for counseling sessions in the world wouldn't have been able to mitigate the atrocities I witnessed.

So, and just to lay down some idea of what we would be seeing here are some of the more interesting tags I used while on the job. 'Non-Consensual intimate imagery of a minor', 'Fetishizing Minors', 'Sexual Exploitation of a minor', 'Minor sexual activity'...notice a pattern here? This is not to discount tags like genetalia of minors 4-17, genetalia of infants and toddlers, non-consensual sexual act involving a minor, female minor areola, to name a few. The there was all the adult tags, leading minors off platform. Tags for violence, gore, weapons, animal abuse, torture, just to give the broader spectrum.

Oh and let me give all you parents out there a heads up. Most of your kids are posting pictures of themselves fully nude onto the platform. For those with toddlers who run around with a cell phone, they're posting pictures of you guys on the toilet, in the shower, naked getting dressed, all kinds of crazy shit and you don't have the slightest clue that it's happening. The platform runs rampant with child sexual predators who are using some weird cartoon looking characters to lead your kids off the platform and onto messaging sites and Snapchat to lure and groom them. I'm just keeping it 💯.

I slowly watched as my life unraveled video by video, day by day. A constant diet of this disgusting, repulsive, and repetitive bullshit had me constantly panicked and eventually drove me to seek outside therapy. To this day I still suffer from the stuff I saw. Some videos more than others. If anyone wants to know more just leave me a comment or something and I'll do my best to try and fill in any gaps.

I'm also going to be writing some more about this topic soon because this is just a brief glimpse into this whole other world I found myself in. So, yeah ..that's what's up with that...
