The wound was raw, and the pain took his breath away.

So he started to encase it in stone

Hardening his heart against the weather

‘Cause nobody ever told him how bad a broken heart hurt 



The wound seemed to go away, and numbness came instead

So he moved on and build the walls

Hardening his heart against people

‘Cause nobody ever told him how to heal a broken heart 

So he pushed her away

Hardening his heart against her kindness

‘Cause she saw who he was, and he was running from a broken heart

Keeping her heart soft and open

‘Cause Jesus was her healer for every broken heart

Opening her heart to his spirit

‘Cause he told her to repent and believe in her heart



So she prayed

Her heart was lightened from her load 

‘Cause she knew who she was and that she had been broken and saved
