ESG, the investment approach that prioritizes investing in companies considered environmentally, socially and/or governmentally responsible, has gained traction in recent years as a risk-mitigation strategy for investors. But the strategy has also had its fair share of naysayers and at times been the object of vitriolic attack, more often than not from the far right end of the nation’s political spectrum.
