Coma Gluttony, Greed, and Sloth

Prologue
The cold rain seemingly erased everything promising a new tomorrow. Except for some unfortunate souls whose luck had finally run out. The heavy smell of gasoline and burning rubber hung in the frigid, dry air. The squeal of tires echoed across the silent night. Sliding across the wet pavement the sound of squealing was followed by a loud and uncontrolled crash. Before the noise and smoke dispersed in the rain.
In the silence a groan could be heard signaling the current survival of the vehicle's passenger. The silence was soon replaced by sirens. Then the sound of noisy nurses and doctors as John Doe was rushed into the hospital.
John Doe opened his eyes slightly, a flash of doctors and nurses passing by him in a swift intangible movement. Before being blinded by a light that caused him to shut his eyes reflexively, only to reopen them to see doors and lights glimpse past him. The lights were frighteningly quick as too many voices wrecked his head. The pounding in his head and the stream of noise, lights, and colors blurred his vision.
This caused his head to spin as he closed his eyes and opened them again. His final glimpse was of a standard operating room and a kind-looking nurse with brilliant bright pink dyed hair and dark ocean blue eyes smiled at him and chimed. She placed something over his face and the last thing he heard was. “Sleep. You’ll feel better soon.” With that he was gone.
