The murder of Adam Revis

It was a normal day as I was driving to work on October 17, 2022. I walked into a file on my desk when I got to the office. I picked the file up and read, “The Disappearance of Adam Revis”. I opened the file and saw that Adam had been missing for 3 days before the family decided to call and report him missing. The report stated that the family had tried for three days to contact Adam before going to his house to find his house locked and his car still in the driveway. They found this suspicious and decided to call the police. When the police arrived they kicked in the door and discovered the house had been wrecked and Adam was nowhere to be found. After reading the file I immediately headed to Adam’s brother Thomas’s house. After an hour-long drive, I finally arrived at the Revis family farm. As I walked up on the porch a girl probably 15 or 16 came running from the barn asking if I was there to find her uncle.
“Yes I am, are your parents around?”
“Yes ill go get them for you.”
A few minutes pass, and I see the sweet girl come running back with her dad.
“Good morning, Mr. Revis. I'm Detective Emma Hoover. I have been assigned to your brother's case.”
“Good morning Ma’ma, You can call me Thomas and this is my daughter Nicole.”
As we continued to speak I found out that there had been a fight between Adam and Thomas concerning an incident involving Thomas's wife Frances. Two days before Adams's disappearance Thomas discovered that his wife and brother were having an affair.
“So Thomas can you explain to me how you felt and what you were thinking after you found out that your wife was having an affair with your brother?”
“I was mad and hurt and didn't know what to think and I know what you're thinking but I would never hurt my brother no matter what happens.”
“I'm not saying you did these are just standard questions I’m required to ask. Can you tell me where you were the day of October 14th, 2022?”
“Yes, ma’am I was here feeding the animals and cleaning the barn.”
“And can anyone account for this?”
“No ma’am I was here myself day my wife’s a vet and is at work all day and Nicole was at school.”
As I continued to question Mr. Revis I found out that he had filed for divorce the day before his brother's disappearance and that Nicole had found the papers and was extremely sad and mad at her uncle. I asked Mr. Revis if it would be possible for me to talk to Nicole alone for a second. After getting His permission Thomas walked out and sent Nicole in.
“Good Morning Nicole, I'm Detective Hoover but you can call me Emma. Ok?”
“Ok, Emma my dad says you have to ask me some questions.”
“Yes I do, but first can you tell me how old you are?”
“Im 15”
“And do you remember where you were on October 14th?”
“I was at my uncle's house all day?”
“Can you tell me why you were at your uncle's house when your dad thinks you were at school?”
“Yes Ma’am, I was supposed to be at school but I missed my bus so I walked to his house to see if he would give me a ride but he was still asleep so I stayed outside and played with his dogs all day.”
I continued to speak to Nicole and she revealed that she had overheard her day talking to his friend Charles about the situation and that she heard him say that he wanted to kill Adam and something about needing to hide something before Frances found out. After hearing this I rushed over to question Charles. After a couple of minutes of talking to him, I found out that he had seen Nicole on her four-wheeler pulling Adam's woodchipper back to his house from the woods. I checked in with Thomas before searching the property where I found a huge burn ring in a clearing in the woods after some digging I found some bone fragments and went back to question the family some more. Thomas said that he hadn't been that far in the woods for months now because of a bear sighting but that Nicole's treehouse was about a quarter mile from the scene.
Finally, Frances arrived home and stated that she loved Adam and wouldn't hurt him but feared that Charles or Thomas might and that she had refused to sign the divorce papers because Nicole was extremely distraught and that it would destroy the poor girl's life. While talking to Frances, Thomas burst in screaming that Nicole had taken off and that he couldn't find her. While me and Thomas went searching for Nicole Frances called Charles to bring his ATV so that we could ride threw the woods. After hours of searching, we found Nicole with a can of gas and a match at the crime scene. Thomas quickly ran and grabbed her before she could set the spot on fire.
After getting Nicole home I went back and looked at the woodchipper where I found human remains and Nicole's fingerprints on the control panel. I went back to the family's house to question Nicole. I thought she was gonna admit to trying to destroy evidence to save her dad or Charles but I couldn't have been farther from the truth. She admitted to everything.
“Nicole, can you tell me what you were trying to do?”
“I was trying to destroy the rest of the evidence.”
“But why? Were you trying to cover it up for your dad or Charles?”
“No, I killed him. I'm the reason he's gone he was going to destroy my life he had to go.”
After arresting Nicole and taking her back to the station we asked her to write her confession and here's what she said.
“I'm Nicole Revis and this is how I killed my uncle Adam Revis. After missing my bus on october 14th I went to his house where I found him and my mom. I was so mad I couldn't just let him destroy our family so I went home and devised a plan. I would wait till everyone went to sleep and sneak over to his house where I injected some of my dad's insulin under his tongue then I drug him outside and threw him on the back of my four-wheeler after hooking up his woodchipper. I drove to the middle of the woods and used my dad's chainsaw to dismember the body before putting it in the woodchipper. After I finished with the woodchipper I threw a bunch of logs and leaves on the remains before dumping gas on the pile and setting it a blaze. Then I took the woodchipper back and went back home before my parents woke up. I have no regrets he was destroying my family. I just wanted my parents to stay together please make sure they know that I love them and that I done this for our family.
