I will be posting poems daily. I have been writing poetry since I was 15. Unfortunately many of my early work was destroyed by my parents when I was caught with marijuana for the first time. Many times I have sparked a new flame for writing, but drugs and alcohol had a hold of me, to the point I couldn’t hold the pen. I started writing again 6 months ago in rehab. "Key-Kee!" Nadine echoed, her tiny hands gripping the floor as she crawled forward, her voice bubbling with excitement. "No, it is Kit-Ty," Harold corrected, shaking his head. "She says it wrong. She is still a baby," Elise said gently. "Meow, meow… meowww," Nadine mimicked the family cat, her tiny frame wiggling like a kitten in play. Eli dropped to his hands and knees beside her. "Meowww!" he exaggerated, scrunching his nose and wiggling his fingers like whiskers. "Ugh, this is ridiculous," Harold groaned. As Nadine moved, the soft fur of her costume brushed against her arms, keeping her warm against the cool fall air. She did not know it yet, but this was something she would carry forever. Her orange-striped costume tail flicked behind her. It was her first Halloween, the night she would start transforming into something more. Later, as shadows stretched across the walls, she whispered her first sign of something greater. "Here, Key-Kee."

This saddens me deeply and, in an odd way, is a pain I feel like I can relate to. To be surrounded by all of these people, yet still feel so alone. The irony of isolation is that we all feel isolated. If you're reading this, go talk to someone whose name you don't know. Why are you going to let your glass box control you?

Poem marking the time and place . The day after the shot a nurse named Alex who was laying on the ground. Shot 10 times in the back. Then today the Video taken outside a Detention center of hundreds of children screaming "let's us out"
Another Day, Another Murder
More Footage From the Minnesota Front This just happened today. Not much is known yet, but two videos have come out. The first one is clear. ICE agents hold a man down on the ground and shoot him five times. The second piece of footage is more damning. The agents were spraying something into the face of a woman who was on her knees. The man, who was an observer, got between the agents and the woman. They tackled him to the ground. In slow motion, you can see that the ICE agents remove the man’s legal firearm from his belt. The weapon was never drawn.
the dread of winter
They ended it in the softest weeks of winter, two weeks before rest, before anyone thought to ask where I would land. Disability makes everything louder— the echo of you’re done, the click of doors closing, the question of where now?
