Name’s yours, but the porch is Mawmaw’s. This place is for the tender-tired, the heavy-hearted, the ones who been sittin’ still so long their bones forgot how to sing. Every story here is lit by a lantern that’s older than sin and twice as honest. You’ll find gospel and gossip braided tight, warnings carved into wood grain, and a little swamp-magic floatin’ just above the truth. If you grew up Southern, you’ll recognize the hum of it. If you didn’t, you’ll learn quick. Sit yourself down on the bottom step. That’s where the real revival happens.
This is a collection of chapters from a book I'm writing. It takes place in a dystopian future, where religious pantheons and organized crime syndicates have taken control of the masses. The story follows Marco, the son of the leader of one of the biggest syndicates, and a hired killer. After his mother is brutally murdered, he puts his life as a hired gun on hold to investigate and find the reason and person behind her death. As he dives deeper into the underworld than he has ever gone before, he finds things are not always as they seem.
When I lost my father to drug use, I lost all sense of self. I was in a very dark place and I struggled to see the light. It took some time but I found my way back and I turned my pain into my purpose.

U. S. economic growth strengthened in the third quarter of 2025, supported by steady business investment and consumer demand. Stock markets hit record highs, and earnings growth remained stable. Yields on U. S. Treasury notes and bills fell during the quarter, with a further drop in the past month, nearing 4. 00 percent. Labor markets stabilized with modest employment growth. While deportation has reduced labor supply, demand has also decreased, keeping labor markets balanced. Companies seem to be focusing on productivity improvements with limited hiring and low layoff rates.

Hello. My name is Dr. AY Heath; you can call me Angel. I'm here to chronicle a big goal for myself. And trust me, it is a very big goal. So what is this big goal. I’m going to read and break down 150 film scripts. That does sound like a lot, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and, after stepping away from my corporate job, I dove into film school and have been diving deep into the process of storytelling. But I want to do more than just learn technical skills; I want to understand what works and doesn't and see where we're in this big filmmaking industry.

Read more from What A Mess (News and Opinion)Let's get one thing straight: Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. This is not up for debate.
If there was ever a way to publicly humiliate an allied leader—one who is literally fighting for his country’s survival—Trump and his administration managed to find it.
While unprecedented, the legal and diplomatic basis for this approach is intriguing. This bold move could offer Ukraine several major advantages...

Read more from Cycles of Reflection"Key-Kee!" Nadine echoed, her tiny hands gripping the floor as she crawled forward, her voice bubbling with excitement. "No, it is Kit-Ty," Harold corrected, shaking his head. "She says it wrong. She is still a baby," Elise said gently. "Meow, meow… meowww," Nadine mimicked the family cat, her tiny frame wiggling like a kitten in play. Eli dropped to his hands and knees beside her. "Meowww!" he exaggerated, scrunching his nose and wiggling his fingers like whiskers. "Ugh, this is ridiculous," Harold groaned. As Nadine moved, the soft fur of her costume brushed against her arms, keeping her warm against the cool fall air. She did not know it yet, but this was something she would carry forever. Her orange-striped costume tail flicked behind her. It was her first Halloween, the night she would start transforming into something more. Later, as shadows stretched across the walls, she whispered her first sign of something greater. "Here, Key-Kee."
"The melody of ‘Jesus Loves the Little Children’ drifted through the quiet church, each note steady beneath Yara’s fingertips. No one noticed how her back stiffened, how her breath caught just slightly before she pressed forward, playing through the sharp waves of pain. The music continued, but time itself seemed to slow. It wasn’t time. Not yet."
I didn’t plan to sit on the bottom step today. Didn’t plan to take stock of my life like I was counting coins on a church fan. But life has a way of cornering you right where the truth can see your face, and the step seemed to know somethin’ I didn’t.

Many households are still facing financial difficulties due to missed paychecks and rising costs, even as government operations resume. It’s normal to feel uncertain about moving forward, whether your income was directly affected or you're a contractor without backpay. Now is a good time to regroup, rebuild, and create a financial recovery plan. First, catch up on urgent expenses when backpay arrives; prioritize essentials before celebrating. Next, rebuild your financial cushion if you had to use savings or credit cards. Make your backpay work harder by planning how to use it wisely. Prepare for future disruptions by having a plan in place for unpredictable shutdowns. Finally, once immediate issues are managed, focus on long-term financial wellness by strengthening your budget and confidence.
Occultism, Magic, and Hermetics To speak of Occultism, Magic, and Hermetics is to speak of the hidden architecture of existence—the subtle web of laws and principles that shape both the cosmos and the human soul. Often misunderstood or dismissed, these disciplines invite us to look beyond the material world perceived by the senses and pierce the veil that separates the visible from the invisible recognizing that all things are bound by a living, intelligent order. Though often misrepresented in the modern age, they remain the perennial foundation for those seeking wisdom that transcends dogma, culture, and time.
