Its been a while.

Life is a series of decisions, experiences, and lessons. Trials and tribulations are commonplace as well. No one has the blueprint, but some do have the cheat code.

I am on a journey of self discovery and good health. Health involves your mental health, physical health, and spiritual health. All health is important and definitely can fall out of the balance. Daily work towards greatness is a huge component of achieving it. It doesn't always look like work, but it surely is.

The first step of understanding is acceptance. Accepting what is, what was, and what will be. Acknowledging the faults we have and the constant journey to prove those who doubt us wrong. We are not perfect, but progression is the key to perfection if it is attainable. Out with the old and in with the new.

We take for granted our ability to do what we please. We take for granted our privilege to wake up every morning and have all of our faculties. Making a difference everyday is hard to do, but becoming a better of ourselves is important. We must be the change we want to see. No more waiting on the perfect opportunity. Let love rule and live for tomorrow and not today. Make the best of every opportunity and look to make the best of the time we are allotted.

Discipline is hard to maintain. Somedays are easier than others to get up and maintain it. Day in and day out, routine is at the forefront of discipline. We do what we know and not what we want to do. Discipline is important, but as we are creatures of habit, we must have a choice in life to do positive things.

Today is a special day. Dr. King gave so much to this country in how he exemplified professionalism, promoted peace, and spoke with confidence. He told us about the true realities of living in this country, but he also gave us the blueprint for a better tomorrow. He inspired millions to create change in our communities. We honor a man that devoted his life to helping others and setting the example that we needed to see.

Just some thoughts running through my mind this morning. What is life going to look like this year? Will I achieve my goals as I envisioned? Will things get in my way that I allow? I believe in new beginnings and fresh starts. I believe that opportunity has to meet preparation. Sometimes preparation is about being ready for any and all situations, its just being mentally ready to fight for what you want or being able to receive it.

A new year has begun. I feel like I can accomplish so much this year. Every day will be a challenge to become better than the last. How much improvement is too much? Can we get so content with improvement that we never stop to see our progress? Life is about change, but how much is enough? Can we change too much? I want to be better, but I still want to maintain my personality and aura. I want to be unrecognizable and recognizable at the same time.

Somedays I am not able to sleep like I would like. I have a hard time falling to sleep. Its like my mind won't shut off or that my mind isn't ready for bed. Sometimes I can imagine something random and it turns into more time awake. I believe that a healthy sleep schedule is important. I love sleep.
