Commentary #1: The Battle of The Top Dawgs
[brief snippet]
The ongoing-- and overgrowing feud between Canadian rapper Drake, and several of his peers has grown in the recent weeks. As many of you are aware, Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Like That," a track from Future and Metro Boomin's Collaboration album, ignited what appears to be an already lit flame. Some key points regarding all of this is that, there is a common discourse online entertaining the idea that Kendrick "won round one," despite dropping an extremely short verse compared to J. Cole and Drake. J. Cole's diss track seemed field with conflicting views and this led to his apology.
Drake on the other hand, has gone full animal, attacking everyone who mentioned or sneak dissed him in recent history. His song "Push Ups" shows that despite Kendrick's lyrical prowess, Drake's ability to make hit records and create an entertaining sound may just win him this war.
But, only time will tell.
