The Peterson family settled into their remote cabin, eager to enjoy a much-needed getaway from the stresses of city life. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant hues, 10-year-old Lily wandered outside to explore the surrounding woods.

"Don't go too far, sweetie!" her mother called out. "And be back before dark!"

Lily nodded, disappearing into the trees. What she didn't know was that she was being watched - by a dark, predatory presence lurking in the shadows.

The skin walker had been tracking the family for days, studying their movements, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. As night fell, it crept closer to the cabin, its form shifting and contorting, until it resembled a large wolf. With eerie, glowing eyes, it slunk towards the porch, searching for an entry point.

Inside, the family huddled together, unnerved by the eerie silence of the forest. "Where's Lily?" her father asked, a note of panic in his voice.

"She's been gone too long," her mother fretted. "I'm going to go look for her."

"No, it's too dangerous out there," her father argued. "I'll go."

As he stepped outside, a chilling howl pierced the night. The skin walker had found its prey. Lily's terrified screams echoed through the trees, spurring the father into a frantic sprint. But he was too late.

By the time he reached the clearing, all that remained were shreds of Lily's clothing, stained with blood. A huge set of paw prints marked the ground, leading back into the impenetrable darkness of the forest. The father fell to his knees, grief and horror consuming him.

The skin walker had taken what it wanted. Now it would continue to stalk the family, toying with them, feeding on their fear, until they were utterly broken. For in these woods, the hunter had become the hunted.
