Ryland pushed through the door to his house, it was small, but it was home. He set his keys down on the table near the entryway.
He tossed himself onto the couch in the living room, yawning before curling up into the fetal position.
There’s something Ryland liked to say, “People see things that they don’t understand and say ‘Why?’, but I dream things that never were and I say ‘Why not?’”
Such a statement was common in Ryland’s overactive mind, and he often annoyed people by pestering them with similar questions.
Smaller voices in his head told him to call the people he knew and ask so many queries. It irritated everyone who knew him personally, but they couldn’t escape him when in the workplace or during family get-togethers.
Similarly, such thoughts plagued him during the night, causing him to get very little sleep. And whenever he did get rest, Ryland’s dreams were disrupted by horrifying scenarios.
Unfortunately, tonight he would get sleep.
