As I stood on my porch listening to the sounds below me, I suddenly had the thought about where those sirens were heading. I live just a few blocks from where I run a small retail store on a busy shopping strip in downtown, and sadly, there are many on that street and surrounding areas who are without home, without any sort of support, and in some cases, without their sanity.

There are too many suffering right now in this world, just one person suffering is too many, however, to ignore it is to add to it and personally, as down as I am about the holidays, I realize that I cannot be selfish, self-involved, or rude at any time of the year. The Holidays, despite how we are spending them this year or any year, we must be diligent when it comes to those who suffer, who struggle, and who beg.
