When I saw an article claiming only 200,000 Jews died in Nazi camps—not six million—I felt confusion, not horror. Numbers blur, tragedies fade, and we move on. This numbness mirrors our digital age—where truth is negotiable, and distraction reigns over remembrance.

Incontrovertible Proof of God's Love - atheist-friendly version I propose that the universe’s apparent indifference is, paradoxically, evidence of divine benevolence. Suggestions for reconciling theology with cosmology are appended, including a mathematical model for divine love (coefficient: ε = 0.999...).

She never looked up when she spoke in an accusatory tone, “what do you want?” “Who said I need something from you?” She raised an eyebrow and stared into my soul. I cleared my throat and continued, “I need to know what it is and how to kill it.” She straightened up in her chair, placing her book face down on the table. “Are you talking about the vine making people disappear or are you talking about your superior?” The corner of my lip twitched but held steady in a serious position. “I don’t see the difference but if you need specifics then I need to know about the vine.”

“What?” I said. She sighed and said, ”One of the prisoners said he’s breaking out tonight, and I think he’s bluffing. They’re always bluffing.” I gasped at the very thought of a prisoner breaking out. What would they do? How would they get off the island? ”Oh, yeah,” I said nervously, “totally bluffing. Right.”

If only the broken silhouette in the mirror would morph back into that little body in a princess dress—shining an irreplaceable smile accompanied by red lipstick that has spread onto my teeth. A cheap plastic tiara, more valuable to me than diamonds, would lay atop my head. High heels ten sizes too big for my feet would loudly thud against creaky floorboards. Lighter than air, I revert to oblivion regarding the hurt which lay ahead. The blanket of bitterness that never seems to leave my damned tongue vanishes, and the hole inside my chest fades away. Suddenly, I have never forgotten what it feels like to be whole.

Meeting your younger self is a surreal experience—one filled with curiosity, nostalgia, and reflection. As past and present collide, you realize how much has changed—dreams once held tightly have shifted, priorities have evolved, and self-growth has taken unexpected turns. The younger version sees endless possibilities, while the present self carries the wisdom of lessons learned. Through laughter and honesty, you acknowledge the fears, the setbacks, and the small victories that shaped you. In the end, it’s a reminder that while life unfolds differently than imagined, every version of you has played a role in getting you here.

"His dad looked a lot older all of a sudden, as if a decade's worth of sadness and dysfunction had finally caught up to him. He looked down at his hands, then out at the road, refusing to meet Cole's fury-filled eyes as tears brimmed in his own. "If you hate me so damn much, then why are you so much like me, Boy?" "Guess that's just the curse of blood."" -A short story about a troubled family, loosely based on my own, and what-ifs.
