Two chairs sat in front of the mantel Not to close but not too far Unexpected but there The mantel is covered in empty frames The fire is not yet burning but there's wood nearby and a box of matches on the table Seems like a fable to be here- in this neighborhood The rhythmic thud of axe meeting wood. The distant cracking of twigs underfoot. There's a window nearby with a fox gathering sticks and twigs for his burrow There's a coming frost tomorrow sweetness lingers in the air, someone must be baking near. More picture frames adorn the house, Some already filled with joyful scenes of dogs. There's frogs decorated everywhere There's a vintage lamp in disrepair There's cute messages everywhere The door is left open and ajar Hoping to be inviting

This is about my childhood trauma. I will eventually write about all my trauma someday but this is a taste of my childhood

I wrote this exhausted and drained I have no idea what it's about, this was all in my brain or whatever lol, excuse my poor texting behavior, I assure you my poetry is better written

I just woke up from a dream and couldn't figure out how to process or debrief the pain I am feeling, so I wrote about it. I have Chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder one of many conditions I struggle with and this was a very triggering dream. Waking up and realizing that I couldn't avoid my pain. I hope some may relate to me but I also don't, the pain I suffer I hope to fight alone, this pain is not fair and I'd rather shoulder it alone. But I crave the feeling that I'm not alone.
