Over a month ago on Facebook, I saw an ad for a art competition hosted by Johnny Depp. I'm an artist, and art has been my hobby since I was young, the last 10 years I've really gotten into it. It became my coping mechanism when dealing with past trauma. The last 4 years my 12 year old daughter has joined me drawing and it's our thing now. I registered and waited. Long story short, I was picked for the competition. The thing is, it's all about votes. I don't have a huge following ; so I'm asking for your vote. If you follow the link, it gives you my profile. This poem is an expression of my desire to always help others. Even at my own expense. Being a people pleaser is something many people struggle with. It can be difficult, but learning when to put yourself first is an essential skill.

I wrote this poem to express my own personal battle of trying to move on from past pains and trauma. It's never easy, and the pain doesn't always truly go away. However, despite that we can always build something new and better.
