NOW I KNOW WHY HER FRENCH TOAST TASTE WAY BETTER THAN MY MAMAS FRENCH TOAST, BUT I ANIT TELLING NOBODY. I AM TAKING HER SECRET INGREDIENT TO MY GRAVE GOD AND WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN I AM GONNA MAKE YOU MY GRANDMA MAGGIES FRENCH TOAST. IN SCHOOL TODAY WE STARTED TO LEARN ABOUT THE FEMALE PERIOD. SHE TOLD ME, “GRANDMA ANIT GOT TO LIKE YOU CAUSE SHE LOVES YOU.” I OVERHEARD MY GRANDMA ASKING MY MAMA WHY SHE BRING THAT NIGGA LOOKING CHILD TO HER HOUSE. SHE SAID THAT MY MAMA SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE NIGGA CHILD ON THE STEPS OF THE ORPHANAGE. MY MAMA TOLD MY GRANDMA, “THAT NIGGA CHILD IS MY BABY GIRL AND YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER. IF SHE GOES, WE ALL GO.” “HER BABY GIRL” GOD THAT IS WHAT SHE SAID. I AM HER BABY GIRL. GOD TONIGHT I FOUND OUT THAT I AM A NIGGA. SO MY ONLY PRAYER TONIGHT GOD IS, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GOD, LET ME WAKE UP WHITE OR LIGHT SKINNED LIKE MY BIG SISTER, SO THAT MY GRANDMOTHER WILL LOVE AND LIKE ME.”

DEAR GOD IN CHURCH TODAY I HEARD THE PREACHER SAY THAT YOU CAN DO MIRACLES. I LISTEN TO HIM TALK ABOUT HOW YOU TURNED WATER INTO WINE. HE SAID THAT YOU PARTED THAT RED SEA AND ALLOWED MOSES AND YOUR PEOPLE TO WALK ACROSS WITHOUT ANY OF THEM DROWNING. LAST WEEK HE SPOKE ABOUT HOW YOU SAVED DAVID IN THE LIONS DEN. SO I KNOW I AM ASKING THE RIGHT GOD TO GRANT ME ONE WISH. GOD I REALLY LOVE MY GRANDMA, SHE LET US MOVE INTO HER BIG HOUSE WHEN MY DADDY GOT KILLED. SHE COOKS BETTER THAN MAMA, AND SHE SMELLS SO GOOD. BUT SHE DON’T LIKE ME GOD. NO MATTER WHAT I DO TO BE A GOOD GIRL, ITS NOT ENOUGH. SHE LOVES MY BIG SISTER.

Finding the Magic Door.

I won't say too much because it's a short story and it's gonna give everything away, but its about regret.

This chapter of my book could be triggering to an immature audience as there is mention and direct description of cat calling a young girl. This chapter is a slice of life to begin the story of a young girl as well as her friends and attachments. I also hope that this free first chapter will lead the audience to subscribe for more!

This story is simply about springs coming in as winter leaves. Some more complex themes can be noticed, though in its most simple form it can be seen as a coming of spring tale as color is brought back to the forest. I hope you as a reader will enjoy the writing style! I love writing these shorter stories and if anyone would like to see longer writing I would love to add more lengthy pieces.
