In the early days of the internet, Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) served as the primary platform for online communication and interaction. These text-based forums allowed users to connect, discuss various topics, and share files before the widespread use of World Wide Web. However, with the advent of mainstream internet service providers like AOL and Compuserve, BBS seemingly faded into obscurity. Despite this, BBS has recently experienced a remarkable comeback, with new programs and a growing user base.

NOTE: I’d recommend you watch or be a bit familiar with the musical and/or movie before reading my opinion on Emmett :) Alright, I’m going to be completely genuine when I say I didn’t personally like Emmett Forest in the original movie that much (Legally Blonde-2001). He wasn’t a bad character by any means, in all actuality I found him an excellent love interest and partner figure to Elle Woods throughout the movie, though, to me, he wasn’t really vital until the musical adaptation. As stated in my previous post, I enjoy musicals quite a bit, though, the only thing that Legally Blonde didn’t really get down to the T was the characterization of Emmett Forest, the lawyer Elle ends up with at the end of the movie. Their relationship is excellent, as you would expect, though in the musical adaptation, not expected.

One of my favorite musicals, the cult classic Beetlejuice from the mind of Tim Burton, has, as of 2019, had a musical adaptation of it. Since I was young, I’ve always loved to sing, but I think the spike in the number of Broadway musicals I listened to truly heightened that love. From Hamilton, to Heathers, to Mean Girls, to Legally Blonde, to Ride the Cyclone, to Falsettos, to, as stated, Beetlejuice, this love has only been further cemented. Though, as of late, I’ve started getting into watching the source material of these musicals, such as the movie Heathers (1989), Mean Girls (2004), and of course Beetlejuice (1988). Since I’ve started doing this, I’ve noticed the extreme differentiations between source material and the musicals that become of them.

Why did Southern members of both the Senate and the House of Representatives vote against these bills? They did so overwhelmingly because each measure affected how they and their constituents lived and the spaces in which they lived. In addition, they were none too happy with the Brown decision as they saw it as unconscionable their children had to go to school with black children.

The allure of city life, with its skyscrapers, bustling streets, and endless opportunities, has long been a dream for many. However, as urbanization continues to surge, it becomes evident that city life is not a one-size-fits-all experience. For some, the urban landscape offers excitement and opportunity, but for others, it can be overwhelming and unsuitable. This article explores why city life isn’t for everyone and why a slower, more rural pace may be a better fit for some individuals.

The Power Within You

Esoof Siddiq Sep 02, 2023
"No one has ultimate power over you" encapsulates a fundamental truth about personal autonomy and self-determination. It signifies that individuals possess the innate ability to make choices, shape their destinies, and control their lives. This empowering statement emphasizes that external forces, circumstances, or individuals cannot dictate one's fate or define their worth. It champions self-empowerment, resilience, and the recognition that each person holds the keys to their own happiness and success.

This issue affects all communities and all of the diversely cultured people that live in those communities. I became a racial justice activist and advocate after being horrified and shaken to my core after watching the video of Derek Chauvin murdering George Floyd on television. I am still affected and forever changed by those events that the world watched on replay for weeks following that day.

Then, the SUV skidded to the stop outside of a Louisana truck stop. The family left the car, and all went inside as a woman stormed out of the truck stop, hanging up the phone. Her eyes fell on the sticky note, and she glanced around, deciding whether or not to look at it. But the note watched her draw near and peel it off of the car tire. Somehow, just what she needed to hear was written on that note.
